    20+ Homemade Lemonade Recipes

Be prepared for any summer get-together or BBQ with this list of the 20+ Best Homemade Lemonade Recipes! With classics like traditional and strawberry lemonade to creative infusions like raspberry, cherry, and lavender, there is a delicious and refreshing option for everyone!

On hot summer days, nothing hits quite like a cool glass of fresh-squeezed lemonade. It’s sweet and tart, cool and icy, and totally hydrating — perfect for pool parties and barbecues, family dinners, happy hour, quiet afternoons with a book, post-workout refreshers, and more!

If you grew up on lemonade mix or bottled lemonade, be ready to have your taste buds blown away. Unlike premade or dry mix varieties, which often contain citric acid, fresh lemonade recipes are tart but have a smooth finish. The sweetness balances the acidity and makes the drink taste like a treat without being cloying.

One of my favorite things about homemade lemonade recipes is that they are surprisingly easy to make. Just squeeze lemons, mix the juice with simple syrup, pour in water, and you are ready to pour it over glassfuls of ice for a seriously simple sipper! Add additional fruit puree, swap the simple syrup for a fruit-infused syrup, stir in fresh herbs, or splash in sparkling water (like in many of the recipes below) to make it your own.

Note: This round-up list includes both my recipes and those from other websites. I have not personally calculated the nutritional information for recipes from external sources.

    FAQs

What is the best way to juice lemons?

Start by rolling the lemons across a hard surface, pressing firmly to loosen the juice. Slice the lemons in half lengthwise and juice the lemons using a hand-press citrus juicer or juicing machine.

Can I make these recipes lower in sugar?

Yes, you can customize any of these recipes to your taste or dietary preferences by adjusting the amount of simple syrup or sugar or swapping all or part of the sugar for a sugar replacement, like monkfruit or stevia.

Does bottled lemon juice work as well as fresh?

Whenever possible, I recommend using fresh lemon juice. It has a fresher and sweeter flavor with a smoother finish. Bottled juice can work in a pinch if necessary, but I recommend always it as a last resort.

    Can I swap meyer lemons?

Certainly! Meyer lemons are less tart with a lightly floral finish, making a deliciously drinkable lemonade. In fact, I love making a pitcher whenever I am so lucky to find them at the store or farmers market! Start with less simple syrup or sweetener when using Meyer lemons, and add more to taste.
