I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but I’ve kinda got a thing for homemade lemonade recipes. From this peach lemonade to lavender lemonade, cherry lemonade to blackberry lemonade and raspberry lemonade, when life hands me lemons, I get to work! 😂🍋🥤

This fresh and fruity recipe for peach lemonade tastes like a glass of sunshine. I can’t wait for the blazing heat of summer just so I can sit on my porch swing with a mason glass of it in one hand and a demure paper fan in the other. I may have lived in Oregon most of my life, but sometimes I swear I’m part Southern belle.

Best of all, this all-natural refreshment is a snap to make with only 10 minutes of active prep—just whip up a batch of peach-infused simple syrup, then use it to sweeten a pitcher of fresh lemon juice and ice water. If you’re feeling extra fancy, some frozen peach slices make a great replacement for ice; then you get a two-fer snack and drink all in one!

    What is Southern peach lemonade?

At its most basic, lemonade is simply a mixture of lemon juice, water, and enough sugar to soften the sour edges. Here we use peach syrup as our sweetener—a simple syrup made from equal parts sugar and water infused with fresh peaches and a splash of almond extract.

    What does it taste like?

Remember the carefree summer days of youth? The ones spent on your beloved bicycle with tassels on the handlebars, a cold soda pop, ripe peach, and pb&j sandwich in your basket, racing through the sunlit fields with your best friends until you happened upon a stream to picnic by? If a drink could taste like that, this peach lemonade would be it. It’s bright and citrusy, juicy like a Georgia peach, and just the right amount of sweet—just the thing for swigging down before you bust out your net for catching fireflies.

Why You’ll Love This Easy Peach Lemonade Recipe

    • Sweet & Simple – All you need to make a batch are lemons, peaches, sugar, water, and an optional splash of almond extract.
    • Quick & Easy – Making the peach syrup takes just a few minutes of active prep, then you leave the mixture to steep while you juice a few lemons. All told, you’re looking at 15 minutes of effort, tops.
    • Deliciously Refreshing – Everyone knows water is hydrating, but it’s also so boring. This peach-flavored lemonade is the perfect antidote for when you need a little extra pizzazz in your glass!

    Ingredients Needed

As promised, you only need a handful of easy-to-find ingredients to make homemade peach lemonade:

    • Fresh Lemon Juice – You’ll need about 3-4 lemons for a batch. Trust me, you don’t want to use bottled lemon juice here.
    • Water – If possible, start with filtered water for the best taste. Don’t have a filter? You can either boil tap water for 15 minutes, or let it sit out overnight covered with just a clean towel to let the chlorine evaporate.
    • Peach Syrup – While you’re welcome to use store-bought, all you need to make your own are sugar, fresh or frozen peaches, and almond extract.
    • Peach Slices – These are optional, but lovely for garnish.

    Substitutions

Need to make some swaps? Not to worry. Here are some easy ones to try:

    • Fresh Lemon Juice – It might be a little less conventional of a pairing, but peach limeade sounds quite yummy!
    • Water – Try swapping in seltzer, club soda, or sparkling mineral water for a bit of effervescence.
    • Peach Syrup – You can sweeten homemade lemonade with any flavor of simple syrup you like!
    • Peach Slices – Feel free to use regular ice cubes, and garnish the drink with lemon wheels, fresh mint sprigs, or frozen berries instead.

    How To Make Peach Lemonade

This quick and easy drink recipe is a snap to make! Here’s how:

Step 1: Roll. Start by rolling the lemons firmly on a hard surface to loosen the juice.

Step 2: Juice. Cut the rolled lemons in half and juice using a juicer.

Step 3: Add the water to a pitcher.

Step 4: Add the lemon juice to the pitcher.

Step 5: Mix. Add the peach syrup. Stir until combined.

Step 6: Serve. Pour over ice and/or frozen or fresh peach slices, and serve!

fresh lemon juice being added to the pitcher of water.
peach syrup being added to the lemon water to sweeten.
peach lemonade being poured over a glass of ice and frozen peaches to serve.

    Optional Variations & Dietary Adjustments

    • Sugar-Free – Feel free to swap in sugar-free peach syrup—you can either buy it or make your own using monkfruit in place of sugar.
    • Added Flavors – If you have multiple flavors of fruity syrups on hand, try mixing and matching them! I think any type of berry syrup would play nicely with the peaches and lemon. Just make sure to use the same total amount of syrup or it might get a little too sweet.
    • Fresh Herbs – If you’d like an extra pop of freshness and a grown-up twist on regular peach lemonade, try adding a small bunch of fresh mint, basil, or thyme to the pitcher before starting. Gently muddle it with the back of a wooden spoon (no need to pulverize it—you just want to bruise the leaves to release the oils), then follow the instructions provided.

    Serving Suggestions

You don’t need anything other than a glass to serve this sensational peach lemonade, but there are plenty of ways to gussy up your cup:

    • Extra Frosty – Freeze your serving glass ahead of time to keep your lemonade cool all the way to the last drop. For a true Southern vibe, use a mason jar and a striped paper straw—and don’t forget the sundress.
    • Peach Palmer – Southern peach tea is legendary, but mixing it with peach lemonade? That’s next level. Maybe we should call this a Bill Campbell—Georgia’s most famous golfer. Sorry, Arnold!
    • Post Workout – Rather than reaching for a bottle of gatorade, try adding a pinch of salt to this potassium-rich peach lemonade for a nice electrolyte boost after your next sweat session.
    • Peachy Punch Bowl – Hosting a get-together? Make a double, triple, or quadruple batch of peach lemonade and serve it in a punch bowl with frozen fruit. It’ll double as a pretty centerpiece!
    • Southern Comfort – It’s 5 o’clock somewhere, so try adding a nip of vodka to your glass for an adults-only glass of chill. Bonus points if it’s peach or lemonade flavored!

    Recipe Success Tips

    • Use Fresh Lemons – I can’t emphasize this enough! Bottled lemon juice has an excess of lemon essential oil, which makes it taste more bitter and less bright than the fresh stuff. Next time you see some on sale, you can toss the extras into your freezer whole—the severe cold helps rupture the cell walls, so they’ll be even juicier once you defrost them.
    • Don’t Forget To Strain – You don’t want to accidentally slurp up a lemon seed and choke yourself!
    • Fresh Vs. Frozen – Peach season is fleeting—typically it’s from mid to late summer. If peaches aren’t in season, opt for frozen slices—not only are they less work (they’ve already been washed and sliced for you), but are also likely to taste better than ones picked before their prime and shipped across long distances.
    • Store-Bought Caveat – Store-bought syrups can vary pretty widely in terms of sweetness (especially sugar-free varieties), so start slow as you add it to ensure you don’t over-sweeten the batch.

    Storage Directions

    • Refrigeration – Homemade peach-flavored lemonade is best when consumed within about 3 days.
    • Freezing – For longer storage, feel free to freeze it for up to 3 months. I recommend freezing it in ice cubes for a fun cocktail upgrade, or as popsicles for a sweet treat. You can also freeze it in a regular freezer container—just make sure to leave at least ½ inch of headroom for it to expand.

    DIY Peach-Flavored Lemonade Nutrition

At the end of the day, peach lemonade is basically just juice and sugar—there’s no protein, fat, or fiber. Each glass will set you back about 161 calories, which is about the same as a soda.

All of those calories come from the 46 grams of carbs per serving. However, unlike most sodas, we’re using real sugar instead of HFCS and we’ll get some of the added benefits of fresh fruit.

Lemon juice is an excellent source of vitamin C, which is great for your immune system. It can also raise the citrate level in your urine, helping prevent kidney stones. The peach juice we extract from making syrup is also high in vitamin C, as well as vitamins A and E, potassium, and iron—all of which are good for your overall health.

Considering all the nutrients and the fact that we’re using real fruit juices, our peach-flavored lemonade is a nice treat that you don’t have to feel too guilty about. Just make sure to limit your intake and pair it with fiber-rich foods to prevent a spike in your blood sugar. Enjoy!

    Pricing Info

This is what I personally paid to make this recipe:

    • ½ cup fresh lemon juice (about 3-4 lemons): $1.52
    • 3 cups water: $0.00
    • ¾ cup peach syrup: $3.35

The total comes out to be around $4.87 or roughly $1.22 per serving!

    FAQs

Does lemon pair well with peach?

Heck yeah, it does! In fact, many peach dessert recipes include a bit of fresh lemon juice for just this reason.

    Is peach lemonade healthy?

Mmm, “healthy” might be an overstatement—there is a decent amount of sugar in there. That said, this homemade peach lemonade is definitely “better for you” than store-bought versions made with artificial ingredients, and there’s a good amount of vitamin C in there. For more nutritional information, hop back to the previous section.

How can I make homemade lemonade without it being too sweet?

Just don’t add too much sweetener! If you prefer your lemonade on the extra tart side of the spectrum, start with adding just ½ of what I recommend in the recipe card below, then increase as needed to taste. If you accidentally overdo it, you can correct the mistake by adding more lemon juice and water, or dilute your glass with some sparkling water when you serve it.
